What is it?
Microdermabrasion is a safe, non-surgical and non-invasive treatment, that exfoliates the skin and encourages the renewal of collagen and stimulates new skin cell growth. It can be safely used for both the body and the face.
How it works:
A hand-held wand with a diamond tip, is passed over the surface of the skin, loosening the dead skin cells. Gentle suction helps to remove those dead skin cells, and unclog pores, whilst assisting in stimulating the cell renewal process, revealing brighter, healthier, more youthful looking skin.
What can it treat?
- fine lines & wrinkles
- acne-prone skin
- congested skin
- blackheads & open pores
- pigmentation & uneven skin tone
- premature ageing
- keratosis pilaris
- overall skin health
Is it suitable for everyone?
Microdermabrasion can be used on all skin types and colours.
However, there are a few skin conditions that are unsuitable to be treated with microdermabrasion. It is not recommended for people with highly sensitive skin, severe rosacea, skin prone to broken capillaries and highly inflamed acne, also those with particular immune disorders and taking certain medications. It is essential to discuss your medical history in your consultation with your skin therapist.
What areas can Microdermabrasion be performed?
The treatment is safe to be performed on any part of the body including –
- upper arms & more
How often can Microdermabrasion be performed?
We recommend consulting our experienced skin therapists, who can best suggest a treatment course appropriate to individual skin types and conditions. The treatments can be spaced anywhere from 2-8 weeks apart.
We also suggest combining microdermabrasion with other treatments to provide most effective results, including professional peels.
